Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) is a Government Agency established by the Act of Parliament No.1 of 1994.  The Authority is responsible for regulating, coordinating, financing and providing Vocational Education and Training in Tanzania.
 VETA Highlands Zone has the following vacant positions that need to be filled very soon by qualified, dynamic and committed Tanzanians at its two centres Iringa RVTSC and Songea VTC.
1. Duty Station:           Iringa RVTSC
   Job Title:                   i) Vocational Teacher in Secretarial Studies (1)
ii) Vocational Teacher in Carpentry and Joinery (1)
iii) Vocational Teacher in Computer applications (1)
   Job Relationship:    Reports to Registrar

2. Duty station:               Songea VTC
    Job Tittle:                i) Vocational Teacher in Auto Electric (1)
                                     ii) Vocational Teacher in Motor Vehicle Mechanics (1)
   Job Relationship:       Reports to Training Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:
To effectively and efficiently impart knowledge, skills and attitude in   levels I-II  of Competence through proper interpretation of curricula and planning of training  delivery in a view to attain VET objectives.
        MAIN DUTIES/TASKS:
  1. Participate in the preparation of annual plan and budget by compiling data from his work station for onward submission to the supervisor.

  1. To prepare instructional plan and scheme of training by interpreting the occupational unit standard and guidelines in view to achieve optimal results and set objectives.

  1. To prepare appropriate tools and equipment required for presentation/demonstration by identifying them as mentioned in a range statement in order to enable conducive training process.

  1. To effectively and efficiently deliver instructions to trainees of level one (I) up to level three (III) through lectures, demonstration, discussion and performing intended knowledge skills and attitude in order to produce trainees with the required competencies.

  1. To perform formative and summative assessment to prepare and using assessment tools such as oral, written, product assessment and record in Log books in order to evaluate their level of competences.

  1. To participate in curriculum development by initiating improvement recommendations, attending workshops, seminars in order to validate the value of training as per the economic growth demand.

  1. To prepare daily, weekly, monthly, terminal and annual implementation and progress reports by compiling trainees’ assessment forms in view to evaluate training status.

  1. To monitor discipline of trainees by following rules and regulations stipulated in their joining instruction in order to maintain peace and order at the Training Centre.

  1. To guide safe use of training tools and equipment by performing daily preventive and corrective maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, fault checking and do minor repairing to maintain their life span.

  1. To provide cancelling to trainees through physical discussion and advising in order to give direction and guidance for the better life of our trainees.

  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly/annual financial progress report by consolidating progress section records for onward submission to the superior.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Form four IV with passes
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies from any recognized Institute (for Vocational Teachers in Secretarial Studies)
  • Advanced Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (for Vocational Teachers in Computer Applications)
  • Diploma/Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in the relevant occupation (for others)
  • Vocational Teachers Training Certificate or its equivalent
  • Computer Literacy
  • Must have good communication proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili
  • At least three (3) years experience in teaching Vocational Education and Training.
