Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is now the favourite to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson as Man United boss according to a number of bookmaker
The 50 year old Portuguese manager is likely to leave the Bernabeu this summer having fallen out with a number of his first team squad and also seen his La Liga title wrestled away by Barcelona.
There had been speculation that the ‘Special One’ would be on his way back to rejoin Chelsea but with Sir Alex Ferguson announcing his retirement from the Old Trafford post there is perhaps a good chance that Mourinho would opt to take over at Man United.
Other notable names strongly linked with a move to take over from the Scot include David Moyes, Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp and veteran winger Ryan Giggs.
Ferguson leaves Man United at the end of the current campaign after over 26 years in the post, during which time the former Aberdeen boss has won a host of honours including 13 domestic titles and two Champions League triumphs.
